Lutheran Health Ministries of the Foothills (LHMF)
was developed by five Lutheran churches/institutions in the Glendale / La Canada area of Los Angeles.They formed a non-profit corporation in 1998 to develop a health ministry program serving their respective congregations and the community.
Participating churches include: First Lutheran, Salem Lutheran, St. Matthew's Lutheran, and Lutheran Church in the Foothills.
Solheim Lutheran Home serves as the fiscal agent, providing payroll, benefits, liability and Administrative Consultation. LHMF has its roots in the Health Ministries program developed in affiliation with Glendale Adventist Medical Center in 1994. The Churches have sponsored a wide range of health promotion activities including health fairs, blood drives, blood pressure screening, and health education events. In January of 2000, the newly formed corporation hired a half-time Parish Nurse to further develop the program's focus.provides a caring, holistic, Christian ministry, incorporating body, mind and spirit to promote the health and well-being of the community.
